New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory ahead of the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions set to take place across the capital on Monday, September 16, 2024. Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.
Central District Procession (From 11:00 AM Onwards)
The procession in the Central District will start from Bara Hindu Rao and move towards Chowk Jama Masjid, covering major areas such as Pahari Dhiraj, Sadar Bazar, Qutub Road, Lahori Gate, Khari Baoli, Masjid Fatehpuri, Katra Bariyan, Farash Khana, Lal Kuan, Chowk Hauz Qazi, and Chawri Bazar.
Heavy traffic is expected on the following roads:
- Rani Jhansi Road
- Bara Hindu Rao Road
- Maharaja Agrasen Marg
- Hare Ram Marg
- Swami Vivekanand Marg
- Naya Bazar Road
- Church Mission Road
- Chandni Chowk Road
- SPM Marg
- Khari Baoli Marg
- Katra Bariyan Road
- Naya Bans Road
- Lal Kuan Bazar Road
- Chawri Bazar Road
- Jama Masjid Road
Traffic movement will be restricted in areas including Bara Hindu Rao Marg, Maharaja Agrasen Marg, Qutub Road, Hare Ram Marg, Swami Vivekanand Marg, Katra Baryan Road, Lal Kuan Bazar Road, Hamdard Road, Chawri Bazar, and surrounding stretches.
North West District Procession (7:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
A procession will be taken out from Madarsa Nizamia E Block near Samrat Cinema, passing through various blocks in Shakurpur.
Rohini District Procession (From 9:00 AM Onwards)
Madarsa Jamia Razvia Gareeb Nawaj H – 3 Sultanpuri, Hari Enclave – Aman Vihar Road Jagdmba Market Main Road Sultanpuri Road A Block Masjid -Jalebi Chowk – Sanny Bazar – Madarsa Jamia Razvia Garreeb Nawaj H – 3 Sultanpuri
Dwarka District Procession (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
Key roads in Dwarka District, including Najafgarh Phirni Road, Uttam Nagar Road, and Deenpur Road, Goyala Dairy Dwarka Road will be impacted. Additional disruptions are expected on Dwarka Mor to Uttam Nagar Red Light and Old Pankha Road to Seven Plus hotel on Old Pankha Road.
South District Procession (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
From Pare Wali Masjid Ambedkar Colony, Chhatarpur to Dargah Hazrat Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki Mehrauli via Andheria Mod, MG Road, Kalka Das Marg, Mehrauli.
Sarita Vihar Procession Route
Noorani Masjid, Madarsa Gali No. 8, Samosa Chowk, Jamia Masjid, A-1 JJ Colony, Shani Bazar Road, D Block, Madarsa Gausiya, PS Kalindi Kunj, Khadda Colony Phase-III, Kanchan Kunj, Dharam Katta, Vilal Masjid, 60 Feet Road, Nirman Chowk, and ending at Jalebi Chowk.
Lajpat Nagar Procession Route
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station -Under Barapullah Flyover- Nizamuddin East – Neela Gumbad – BSF Ashwini Mess. Mathura Road near Nizamuddin Dargah, R/A Neela Gumbad, Station Road and internal roads via which procession will pass.
Mayur Vihar and Kalyanpuri Procession Routes
- From 27 Block Trilok Puri Bus Stand – 35 Block – 32 Block – 33 Block – 19/20 Block – 22 Block-26 Block-14 Block 24 Block-Pocket 2 Mayur Vihar-Karbala Kotla Village – Gurjar Bhawan – and turn to Shashi Garden – Dena Bank Kurkreja Nursing Home – Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 – Acharya Niketan Road – 27 Block Trilok Puri Bus Stand.
- From 32 Block Trilok Puri – 28 Block – 29 Block – 27 Block – 35 Block – 32 Block – 33 Block – 19/20 Block – 22 Block – 26 Block – 15 Block – 14 Block – 24 Block – Pocket 2 Mayur Vihar – Karbala Kotla Village – Gurjar Bhawan – and turn to Shashi Garden Dena Bank – Kurkreja Nursing Home – Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 – Acharya Niketan Road 27 Block Trilok Puri Bus Stand.
- From Shashi Garden Old PS Patparganj Road – Bapu Nature Alkon Public School – Jeevan Anmol Hospital – PS Mayur Vihar Phase I – 27 Block – 35 Block – 32 Block – 33 Block – 19/20 Block – 22 Block – 26 Block 15 Block 14 Block – 24 Block – Pocket 2 Mayur Vihar – Karbala Kotla Village – Gurjar Bhawan – and turn to Shashi Garden Dena Bank – Kurkreja Nursing Home – Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 – Acharya Niketan Road – 27 Block Trilok Puri Bus Stand.
- From Mustafa Masjid, Mulla Colony – Shubaniya Masjid Chotti Masjid Kabristan and return to Mustafa Masjid, Mulla Colony via same route.
- Sunni Akbari Masjid – Bharti Traders Wali Road – Aggarwal Sweets Road to return Peer Baba ki Dargah to Akbari Masjid.

Key Instructions for the Public:
- People are advised to avoid above mentioned roads/stretches in the area where procession will be taken out.
- The commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, ISBT and Airport should leave with sufficient time at hand to accommodate possible delays on the route.
- Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads.
- Park your vehicles only at designated parking lots.
- Avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal flow of traffic.
- In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is noticed in suspicious circumstances, information should be given to the police, the traffic advisory stated.
