India are all set to resume their World Test Championship campaign against Bangladesh. The Rohit Sharma-led side will host Bangladesh in the first Test which starts from September 19 in Chennai.
The Bangladesh team will be full of optimism following their recent Test series win against Pakistan. Najmul Hossain Shanto guided his country to two famous victories which has etched their name on the history forever.
Backed by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India named a pretty formidable 16 member squad for the upcoming first Test. Rishabh Pant returned to the squad for the first time since his car accident. Pacer Akash Deep found a place in the squad while Yash Dayal earned his maiden callup to the side.
Ahead of the first Test, Najmul Hossain threw a challenge to the Indian team as he feels his team's morale is pretty high following their victory over Pakistan recently.
As quoted by Cricbuzz he said,
"This will be a challenging series for us but after having a good series against Pakistan, there is an extra confidence in our team as well as among all the people of the country," Najmul told reporters before departing for India. "Every series is an opportunity and we will play to win both the matches. (We will focus on) the things that we need to do for the win…the process is important and we need to do our job properly.
"If we can do our job properly certainly a good result is possible but still it's going to be very challenging. If you see the ranking they are far ahead of us but recently we played a good series and the most important thing is that how we can play good cricket. The result happens in the last session of the five days and so if we can play good cricket we have a chance to do well in the last session.
