Still waiting for his maiden Test cap from the Indian cricket team, Abhimanyu Easwaran continued his remarkable form in the 2024-25 Duleep Trophy by scoring the 24th century of his career in first-class cricket during the clash between India and India C at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur.
Easwaran is leading the India B outfit and was the lone warrior with the bat as Anshul Kamboj ran through their batting unit. As Indian internationals like Sarfaraz Khan and Rinku Singh failed to make an impact, Easwaran was the last man standing with an unbeaten knock of 157 runs.

After India C put up a huge total of 525 on the board, Easwaran played a captain's knock and carried his bat as his team were bowled out for a score of 332 and conceded a lead of 193 runs. While opening partner Narayan Jagadeesan gave him solid support with a knock of 70 and the duo put up a partnership of 129 runs, no other batter managed to score more than 26 runs.
Easwaran became only the 7th player in the history of the Duleep Trophy to carry his bat in an inning and joined the likes of Aakash Chopra, Wasim Jaffer and Gautam Gambhir in the elite list. Easwaran is the first player to achieve the feat in 21 years and has registered the second-highest score by any player who carried his bat in the competition's 63-year-old history.
