ind vs ban: ishan kishan could return to team india's t20i squad if....

India will make their on-field return in the Test series against Bangladesh, starting September 19. After the Test series, the two teams will lock horns in three T20Is. The three T20Is will be played on October 6, 9 and 12. India will only have a three-day break after the T20I series and the players will assemble in Bengaluru for the first Test match against New Zealand, starting October 16.

Since there is not enough rest between the Test and T20I series, several players are likely to get rested for the white-ball series against Bangladesh. PTI has reported that Shubman Gill is set to be rested for the series.

The report also adds that there could be a possibility of Ishan Kishan making his India return for the T20I series. He could replace Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batsman is a regular in the Test team and could end up playing all 10 Test matches in the season.

The selectors are expected to manage his workload and he might not play the Bangladesh T20Is. In his absence, Ishan could be recalled to the T20I squad.

The left-handed batsman hasn't played an international fixture in 2024. He was part of the squad for the complete South Africa tour in 2023/24. Ishan pulled out before the start of the Test series and he returned home due to personal reasons.

He took a break from the game and skipped the domestic season. Ishan missed the last round of the Ranji Trophy despite the BCCI asking all players to participate in it. This led to him losing his central contract.

Ishan made his return to domestic cricket recently and was named in India C for the Duleep Trophy. He made a memorable return and slammed a century. Sanju Samson, who is also playing Duleep Trophy, is likely to retain his spot in the T20I team.
