With hues of pink and purple making an appearance, the capital city of Meghalaya is ready to play host to another edition of the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled for November 15 and 16. Aimed to promote music, art, and culture while paying homage to the ethereal beauty of the flowers that bring many a traveller to the eastern state, the festival is also a platform for national and international talent to come together and collaborate.
International and Indian Headliners
This year will see the Senegalese-American superstar Akon treat fans to a high-energy show. His infectious beats and catchy lyrics have made him a global phenomenon, and his performance at the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival is sure to be one of the highlights of the event. Also on the lineup is Boney M’s iconic singer Maizie Williams, and Lucas, K-pop sensation who will make his India debut. Lucas has gained immense popularity as a member of the global K-pop group SuperM, and his solo debut has further solidified his status as a rising star.

At this music festival, you can also expect to be mesmerised by Jasleen Royal, loved for her unique blend of indie and Bollywood music, and party queen Kanika Kapoor, who is sure to set the stage on fire with her catchy party anthems. A local favourite showcasing Shillong's musical heritage, Jessie Lyngdoh will also make an appearance at the festival, followed by The Great Society, a legendary rock band from Shillong, featuring music veterans Lou Majaw and Rudy Wallang. Their reunion performance at the festival will be a nostalgic journey for fans, harking back to the golden days of rock music in the region.
