ed westwick and amy jackson’s wedding in italy locations and planning

Resh&Co, a renowned luxury wedding planning firm, has added another feather in its cap of high-profile celebrations by curating the unforgettable destination wedding of Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson. The beautiful Amalfi Coast and Cilento doubled up as wedding venues for the actor couple. The event began with a picturesque sunset cruise, with the couple tying the knot the next day at Castello di Rocca Cilento, a 16th-century castle nestled in the southern Italian hills. The final day was earmarked for a farewell brunch at Giardini Del Fuenti, a charming beach club carved into the rock of the Amalfi Coast. And it took the planners six months to bring this vision to life!

Behind the scenes of this extravagant affair was the visionary Costanza Giaconi, the Founder, Director, and Partner for European operations at Resh&Co. As more travellers look to foreign shores for their D-day celebrations, Giaconi shares her insights into the planning process, the challenges faced, and the magic that you need to create a dream destination wedding!

How did you decide on the Amalfi Coast for Amy and Ed's wedding?

Amy and Ed were super involved in every detail. Amy had a clear vision from the start – she wanted an all-white palette and a dinner lit entirely by candlelight. The whole process felt like a true collaboration, and the result was nothing short of magical. It all started with the idea of creating a classic, fairytale vibe. Castello di Rocca Cilento’s historic charm, with its stone and brick, gave us major design inspiration. We wanted to tie in the natural beauty of Cilento Park surrounding the venue. When we saw the dinner area, we knew we had to take advantage of the existing structures with drapes and chandeliers for that wow factor. We added that signature Bianco Bouquet elegance and a contemporary touch, like the beautiful trees at the ceremony.

How did you conceptualise the wedding theme and style? Did it align with the couple's personalities?

Amy’s love for classic elegance and Ed’s appreciation for natural beauty were reflected in every detail. We wanted to create a timeless, romantic atmosphere that would capture the essence of their love story. The all-white palette and candlelit dinner were perfect choices to achieve that dreamlike ambience.

For dinner, white was the star – drapes, centrepieces, and of course, tons of candles to set the mood. While the wedding and welcome party were gorgeous, we especially loved designing the third day – the Revival Brunch! It was a fun chance to play with Italian flair and show off the unique charm of the Amalfi Coast.

Where are the biggest trends within the ambit of destination weddings that you're witnessing?

There are a few major trends in destination weddings that we’re seeing. One is a growing preference for more intimate, personalised celebrations. Couples are opting for smaller guest lists and focusing on creating unique experiences that reflect their personalities. Another trend is a shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly weddings. Many couples are choosing venues with sustainable practices and incorporating eco-conscious elements into their celebrations.

What are the biggest challenges in organising a destination wedding?

One of the biggest challenges in organising a destination wedding is coordinating logistics for guests. With guests travelling from different parts of the world, it can be difficult to manage flights, accommodations, and transportation. Another challenge is ensuring that the wedding day runs smoothly despite potential language barriers or cultural differences. It’s important to have a strong team in place who can handle any unforeseen issues.

How did you incorporate Amy and Ed's personal touches into the celebrations?

Amy and Ed shared their personal stories and preferences with us, which allowed us to incorporate meaningful elements into the wedding. For example, the trees at the ceremony were a special touch, representing their home and their love story. The tree is very significant for their life together; the bride (Amy) personally sent us the texts to use for the invitations and the welcome letters for guests; they also chose a personalised fragrance made especially for them to use in candles displayed on the reception tables; these are just a few samples of how we were able to create a wedding that talked about them.

Tell us about some of the most incredible destinations where you've organised weddings?

I’ve had the privilege of organising weddings in some truly breathtaking destinations. The Amalfi Coast, with its stunning cliffs and turquoise waters, is always a favourite. Apart from that, I’ve also planned weddings in Maldives, Istanbul, and Dubai. Each destination offers its own unique charm and beauty, and it’s always a pleasure to work with couples who have chosen these incredible locations for their special day.

For couples planning a destination wedding, what is your biggest advice, or tip to ensure it is a memorable event?

My biggest advice for couples planning a destination wedding is to start early and be organised. The earlier you start planning, the more time you’ll have to research destinations, vendors, and logistics. It’s also important to create a detailed timeline and budget to keep everything on track. And most importantly, don’t forget to relax and enjoy the planning process! Your wedding day should be a celebration of your love, so make sure to savour every moment.
