not jasprit bumrah! kl rahul picks ex-rcb pacer as 'best bowler in the world'

Jasprit Bumrah would probably be the number one bowler for most cricket pundits given his staggering achievements and records, however, India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul ranked him third. Rahul participated in a fun session where he was asked to rank the top five bowlers. The twist here was that Rahul didn't know all the names and was asked to rank the players one by one.

The first name that Rahul was asked to rank was of veteran England pacer James Anderson and Rahul kept him at second. Then it was the turn for South Africa great Dale Steyn and Rahul after a long thought placed him first. When asked to rank Rashid Khan, Rahul placed the Afghanistan spinner at fourth and Jasprit Bumrah at three. Pakistan’s Naseem Shah was the last name and Rahul placed him at fifth.

In the same video, Rahul was asked to rank the top five batters and he placed Virat Kohli at first. Rohit Sharma was second on Rahul's list while Suryakumar Yadav bagged the third position. Babar Azam and Travis Head took the fourth and fifth slot respectively.

No KL Rahul In India Squad For Bangladesh Test Series; 26-Year-Old Star To RETURN After 634 Days: Report

Meanwhile, India are set to take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series from September 19. Rahul was not an automatic selection in the squad given his string of inconsistent performances for India in recent times, however, a gritty half-century in the Duleep Trophy match against India B might have prompted the selectors to consider him. Rahul would see the series as an opportunity to redeem himself and strengthen his position in the Indian playing XI.

While it was expected that it would be a toss-up between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant for a place in the playing XI, reports in the media claim that both can be picked in the team, with Rahul getting preferred over Sarfaraz Khan and Pant playing as a wicketkeeper-batter.
