rana daggubati acquires india rights of cannes award winning film ‘all we imagine as light’

Rana Daggubati is always on the lookout for engaging content. After he successfully backed 35 Chinna Katha Kadu recently, the strapping actor has now acquired India distribution rights of Payal Kapadia‘s Cannes prizewinner “All We Imagine as Light.” This is a huge development considering that Rana Daggubati has been very aggressive when it comes to backing content-based films.

All We Imagine As Light Won Grand Prix

All We Imagine as Light (2024) is written and directed by Payal Kapadia. The cast includes Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon. The film was premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. It was the first film from India to compete in the main competition since 1994 and won the Grand Prix. The film won acclaim at international festivals.

‘Thrilled To Bring The Film To Indian Viewers’

Rana has the knack of picking up concept-based films like C/o Kancharapalem, Bommalata, and Charlie777. All the films have been highly acclaimed, and he is being lauded for his knack of taking up all films that are happening. He believes All We Imagine as Light will be another film in the cap.

“After garnering love from audiences at festivals abroad, we are thrilled to bring Payal’s ‘All We Imagine as Light’ to Indian viewers. Our partnership with this incredible film is a step forward in our efforts to bring compelling and moving stories from different parts of the country to audiences everywhere,” Rana Daggubati said speaking to Variety.
