afg vs nz dream11 predictions: fantasy cricket tips for afghanistan vs new new zealand one-off test

For the first time in history, Afghanistan will face New Zealand in a Test match as the two sides go head-to-head in a one-off Test match at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida from Monday (September 9).

Afghanistan will return to playing in India as their designated 'home venue' after a gap of four years. The last time, they played a match on Indian soil, as the home team was in March 2020 against Ireland in Greater Noida. The stadium will host a Test match for the first time, having previously hosted five ODIs and six T20Is, each of them featuring the Afghanistan team.

Afghanistan have previously played three Test matches on Indian soil, with one being their first-ever international game in the longest format of the game against Team India at Bengaluru in 2018. Later, they hosted Ireland and the West Indies in a Test match at Dehradun and Lucknow, respectively.

Afghanistan will be without talisman Rashid Khan for this match due to fitness reasons. Star opener Ibrahim Zadran has been ruled out due to injury.

While New Zealand do not have World Test Championship (WTC) points to play for in Greater Noida, the match will kickstart a hectic tour of the subcontinent for them, as after this match they travel to Sri Lanka for two Test matches and later return to India for three games against the Rohit Sharma-led side.
