Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated across India with great zeal and fervour- marks the birth of Lord Ganesha- the son of Shiva and Parvati. The festival will commence on September 6 and will last until September 17. Devotees bring Lord Ganesha's idols into their homes, offering prayers, and sweets, and seeking his blessings. The occasion concludes with processions and the immersion of the idols in rivers or seas.
