from baba aparajith to musheer khan: looking back at top four highest run-scorers on duleep trophy debut

India B batter Musheer Khan bagged the cricketing world's attention again after the U19 World Cup earlier this year when he smacked a brilliant 181 against India A in the first round of the ongoing Duleep Trophy. While one might consider him a once-in-a-generation talent, a few more cricketers have scored centuries and even double centuries on their Duleep Trophy debut.

Let's take a look at the top four run-scorers on debut in the Indian domestic tournament:

Baba Aparajith

Unfortunately, Aparajith remained stuck in the domestic circuit and couldn't break into the international circuit.

Musheer Khan

Put in to bat first by India A skipper Shubman Gill, India B posted 321, riding on an 181-run knock from debutant Musheer Khan and a half-century from Navdeep Saini. In reply, India A were bowled out for 231, with Mukesh Kumar and Saini picking three wickets apiece. This feat by Musheer helped him cross legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar's Duleep Trophy debut score.
