EXO's Suho and aespa are suing controversial YouTuber Sojang. The YouTuber, who is known to spread false and malicious rumours about K-pop idols, was previously taken to court by IVE's Jang Wonyoung, Kang Daniel, BTS' Jungkook and V.
EXO's Suho and aespa file lawsuits against Sojang
On September 4, SM Entertainment confirmed that EXO’s leader Suho and all fours members of aespa (Karina, Winter, Ningning and Giselle) had filed defamation lawsuits against controversial YouTuber Sojang in April this year. The first trial for the same was reported held on September 2 at the Incheon District Court. Sojang is being indicted on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

This comes just days after South Korean media outlets revealed that BTS' label BIGHIT MUSIC as well as V and Jungkook had filed a lawsuit against Sojang in March 2024 to claim damages of about 90 million won (Rs 55 lakh).
Who is Sojang?
Known for her disruptive online presence, Sojang became infamous for relentlessly targeting South Korean celebrities. Despite numerous efforts by fans and investigators, little is known about the channel owner. The only thing we know about Sojang is that the YouTube channel is run by a South Korean woman named Park Joo-ah, who is reportedly in her mid-40s.

Over the last few months, the YouTuber has been making headlines as she was sued by IVE's Jang Wonyoung, Kang Daniel and the members of BTS. Recently, Sojang, who was ordered to pay 100 million won in damages to Wonyoung by the court, refused to do so.
