In an interview released on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump addressed a range of controversial topics, continuing his strategy of engaging with influential online figures. In the talk, which was conducted with well-known podcaster Lex Fridman, Trump discussed his intentions should he decide to run for office again.
If elected, Trump said that he may make public a list of people connected to Jeffrey Epstein. Five years after his suicide, Epstein—an alleged sex trafficker—remains a hot topic of discussion and conjecture among the general public. Because of Trump's relationship with Epstein and Epstein's ties to prominent Democrats like former President Bill Clinton, there has been constant conjecture over the possibility of a "client list."
When Fridman inquired about why a list of Epstein’s associates had not been made public, Trump indicated that he would "certainly take a look at it" if given the opportunity. Although a number of court records pertaining to Epstein's legal problems have been made public over time, no hard proof of a "client list" has surfaced. Although there have been several lawsuits and criminal investigations pertaining to Epstein and his death in 2019, no document containing the rumors that have been going around online has been confirmed.
Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are a topic of popular interest that was also touched upon in the conversation. Trump said he would be inclined to support the Pentagon's release of further UFO footage. When asked by Fridman if he would support pushing the Pentagon to disclose more footage, Trump affirmed, “I would do that. I’d love to do that. I have to do that.”
Conspiracy theories about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy were discussed in the conversation. Trump's involvement with these subjects is indicative of his larger approach of actively tackling divisive subjects with prominent online figures.
