CBSE conducted a surprise inspection to ensure that the schools affiliated with the Board are strictly adhering to the norms and ByeLaws set forth by CBSE.

A total of 27 teams conducted inspections, each team had a CBSE officer and a Principal from CBSE-affiliated school. CBSE has released a press release informing the same. The notice reads, "The inspections were meticulously planned and executed in a synchronized manner, taking place simultaneously across all selected schools within a short timeframe. What are dummy schools?

Dummy Schools are institutions that offer full attendance to students, irrespective of the fact that they are not required to attend classes. Question here arises if increased competition of entrance exams is pushing parents and students to go for ‘dummy schools’? Few students opt for dummy schools as they have time for coaching classes. Every year lakhs of students appear for a few thousand seats in engineering and medical colleges. These students start their preparation from standard 9th and choose not to go to schools after 10th to devote the time in studying.
