'all we can do is...': patrick mahomes sends warning to kansas city chiefs ahead of baltimore ravens nfl opener

Patrick Mahomes isn’t concerned about the Kansas City Chiefs’ poor display in week 1 last season. The Chiefs lost to the Detroit Lions in the NFL opener last campaign.

The Chiefs celebrated their Super Bowl success with a flag-raising ceremony but it soon turned out to be a fatal affair as the Chiefs were beaten by the Lions. three-time Super Bowl MVP Mahomes encountered his one of the worst displays of his decorated career.

He looked not in his best touch as he couldn’t complete more than 50% of his passes in the game and he also recorded just two touchdown passes with 226 yards of passing. Mahomes insisted last season’s memory will not bother ahead of the NFL season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

“I don’t think last year’s too much on your mind,” Mahomes said. “You’re so focused on trying to get better, and we’re playing the best of the best Week 1. We’re going to see where we’re at. We’re going to have to go out there and play our best football early in the season. All we can do is go out there and be our best.”

Mahomes had a fantastic record in NFL opening games having won all his other five since stamping his authority as league’s one of the best quarterbacks.

“You don’t want to get pushed around. I think that’s the biggest thing,” Mahomes said of Week 1 games, and playing the Ravens in particular. “Whenever you play teams like this, you want to make sure you match their physicality. We’re fast, and we’ve got guys that run around, but we pride ourselves on being physical as well, so it’s going to be a great challenge, man.”

Mahomes has already etched his name in the history having more touchdown passes and more passes for more yards than any other quarterbacks in NFL history.
