K-drama star Han So-hee's mother has reportedly been arrested on charges related to operating illegal gambling dens on September 2. This is the second time she's been taken into custody.
Han So-hee's mother gets arrested
Identified as Ms Shin, Han So-hee’s mom was arrested for allegedly operating over 12 gambling dens across Ulsan, Wonju and more, since 2021. Ms Shin reportedly used ‘proxy owners’ to operate the dens, where patrons would access a gambling website to play games.
Han So-hee's mom has a history of facing the law. Previously, the K-drama star faced a lawsuit after her mother took out a 40 million won loan and set Han So-hee as the guarantor. The starlet had apologized for the incident, writing, "I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who may have felt uncomfortable or hurt by the incident. I am sincerely sorry. I am hoping there will be no more victims, as I write this with a feeling of shame."

The actress had also shared, "I haven’t had much contact with my mother, so I learned about her debt when I was 20 years old. Even before my debut, I worked to pay off my mother’s debt. After I debuted, I got in contact with the debtors and learned that my mother borrowed money using my name and job as her shield, and did not pay it back. The amount she borrowed using my name and thus the amount of debt I carried was just too large to bear. I am sorry that my carelessness." For the unversed, Han So-hee lived with her grandmother since the age of 5 as he parents got divorced. The Nevertheless actress has rarely contacted her mother, especially after high school.
