suriyas kanguva release postponed to avoid clash with rajinikanths vettaiyan

During his speech at the audio launch for the upcoming Karthi-starrer Meiyazhagan that was held recently, actor Suriya confirmed that his upcoming film Kanguva will not release on October 10 in order to avoid a clash with Rajnikanth's Vettaiyan. In his speech, he mentioned that the film had been made with the hard work and passion of thousands of people and that the efforts would not go in vain.

During the function, Suriya said that they deemed it fit that Kanguva should not clash with Vettaiyan on the same date and that Rajnikanth was a much more senior actor who had been the identity of Tamil cinema for decades. Although the makers of Kanguva had announced their release date earlier than the makers of Vettaiyan, rumours word was going around that the possibility of the two big films releasing on the same date would not happen.
