Pooran was on a six-hitting mission and smoked nine colossal sixes during the innings. The six-hitting spree helped Pooran leapfrog Chris Gayle and top the charts of most T20 sixes in a calendar year. Pooran now has 139 sixes to his name in 2024 while playing for Durban Super Giants, Lucknow Super Giants, MI Emirates, MI New York, Northern Superchargers (Men), Rangpur Riders, Trinbago Knight Riders, West Indies. Chris Gayle, on the other hand, achieved the feat in 2015 when he smashed 135 sixes.

Pooran's knock clubbed with 73 in 35 balls by Keacy Carty helped the team post a score of 250-4. The Patriots did cross the 200-run mark but fell way short of the target. The team could only score 206-8 in 20 overs and suffered a defeat by 44 runs.
