Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight traveling from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to Hyderabad was diverted to Nagpur on Sunday after a bomb threat was received, the airline confirmed. All passengers on board were safely deplaned, and authorities immediately launched a search operation upon landing in Nagpur.
In a statement, IndiGo said, "Flight 6E 7308 operating from Jabalpur to Hyderabad was diverted to Nagpur due to a bomb threat. Upon landing, all passengers were disembarked, and mandatory security checks were promptly initiated." The airline also ensured that passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments during the delay.
In other news, as heavy rains continue to affect Hyderabad, IndiGo has issued a travel advisory for passengers heading to the airport. The airline warned that flights could be impacted due to waterlogged roads and advised travellers to start their journey to the airport early. "Passengers are encouraged to monitor flight status online," the advisory added.
Currently, IndiGo operates 18 domestic flights connecting Hyderabad Airport to various cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. Passengers travelling on these routes have been urged to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a red alert for the city, predicting extremely heavy rains. An orange alert has been issued for tomorrow in several districts across Telangana. For Hyderabad, an orange alert remains in place today, with a yellow alert issued for tomorrow, indicating moderate to heavy rainfall today and light to moderate rains expected tomorrow.
In light of these weather conditions, IndiGo's travel advisory remains in effect, urging passengers to stay updated on their flight schedules.
