Srinagar: The Indian Army fired warning shots in Jammu and Kashmir’s Badipora district on Saturday as some construction work was going on by the Pakistani Army in Nowshehranad near the Line of Control (LoC) fence in the Gurez sector, top police sources told Times Now. After the Indian Army’s warning, the construction was reportedly stopped.
No one was reportedly injured. Notably, Terrorists are reactivating the old traditional routes to sneak into the Indian territory. More details are still awaited.
The development came days after the security forces gunned down three terrorists in two separate operations in Kupwara. The Indian Army successfully eliminated three terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
"On 28 August, credible inputs were received from intelligence agencies, which was further corroborated by J&K Police regarding likely infiltration attempts from these areas. Based on the inputs, troops of Indian Army, JKP and BSF laid ambushes on likely infiltration routes in both Machhal and Tangdhar sector," the Army had said on Thursday.
Two terrorists were eliminated in Machhal sector and one in Tangdhar sector.
