Several witnesses reported about incident in the comment section of the post:

"We were just in Scheels and someone yelled 'they have a gun!' and everyone took off towards the front entrance to get out." one user, named Zion Lenae Fewin, reported. "People tripped and got ran over and my husband and I swore we heard two pops go off but also realize we were in a frenzy to leave.

"About three cop cars swarmed entrance of Scheels less than 5 minutes later and 4 more flying down rock road. This was not in front of round 1?"

Another user, named Jennifer Fast, said: "My daughter was there. Someone was yelling that there was an active shooter, so she and her friends ran across the street. They said they saw people running suddenly, but never heard any gun sounds.

"I’m guessing someone saw the people running after the fight started, and assumed there was a gun? Everything is calm now, still some police patrolling."

As per the post by Wichita News Network, police scanner radios reported that officers at the scene requested additional units to respond due to the size and intensity of the altercation.

By 5:58 p.m., officers reported being in trouble and noted that approximately 300 kids were present at the mall. The situation escalated, leading to a response by the police. By 6:02 p.m., the authorities decided to shut down the OIT (Officer In Trouble) response.
