Babar Azam continued his below-par run in Test cricket and was once again dismissed on a low score. Much was expected from the former captain in the must-win Test match against Bangladesh. But Babar failed to convert his start into a big one and departed for 31. The right-handed batsman walked to the crease after Pakistan lost their second wicket for 107.
Babar continued to hold one end as Pakistan lost two more wickets. Babar had faced 76 balls and looked set on the crease. He faltered against Shakib al Hasan and was trapped in front of the stumps. Babar knew that his leg was in front of the stumps and decided against reviewing the decision.

The Bangladesh players were elated after getting the prized wicket. Babar hasn't scored a century in Test cricket since December 2022. He hasn't even scored a half-century since then.

Saim Ayub, Shan Masood and Agha Salman scored half-centuries. Mehidy Hasan took a five-fer while Taskin Ahmed scalped three wickets for Bangladesh.
The visiting side survived the last two overs of the day and scored 10 runs without losing any wickets. Pakistan will need quick wickets early on day 3.

No Shaheen Afridi for Pakistan
Pakistan made a shocking call and dropped Shaheen Afridi. The left-arm pacer has been Pakistan's lead pacer since his debut but there was no place for him in the playing XI for the second Test match. Pakistan also dropped Naseem Shah.
Both pacers and spinners did the job for Bangladesh on day 2 and it remains to be seen if Pakistan made a wrong call by dropping Shaheen or not.
