New Delhi: The Centre has introduced a new, streamlined pension application form called ‘Bhavishya,’ aimed at simplifying the retirement process for central government employees. Launched by Union Minister Jitendra Singh via video conference on Friday, this form merges nine different forms into a single, easy-to-use Form 6A.
Starting December 2024, all retiring central government employees can access the form on the Bhavishya and e-HRMS portals. The new system is designed to process all retirement dues and the Pension Payment Order (PPO) on the day of retirement, providing a smooth transition from employment to retirement.
The Bhavishya system allows employees and administrative authorities to track pension sanctions and payments online. It also includes an option to download the ePPO, making the process paperless and efficient.
Singh highlighted that this initiative is part of the government’s "maximum governance-minimum government" strategy, aiming to simplify and improve the pension system for citizens and retirees.
The new Bhavishya form and associated process changes are set to revolutionise pension management. The form simplifies submission for employees by requiring only a single sign-on, while achieving complete digitization of the pension processing from application to payment. According to an official statement, this shift will pave the way for a paperless pension system.
