Ahmedabad Gujarat Cyclone Asna Live Tracker and Updates: In a rare meteorological event, a weather system that traversed the entire Indian subcontinent from east to west has resulted in a deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat. This system originated as a 'low pressure' area over the Bay of Bengal on August 16. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression is expected to move west-southwest, emerge into the northeast Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan, and intensify into a cyclonic storm by Friday. The cyclone – called 'Asna' if formed – is, however, not expected to affect Indian coasts as it's moving towards the Arabian sea, away from the land. The deep depression that is expected to turn into a cyclonic storm "Asna," got its name from Pakistan. In Urdu, “Asna” means “The One To Be Acknowledged Or Praised.”
