donald trump might vote against florida's abortion ban: '6 weeks is not enough'

Former President Donald Trump signaled that he might vote to end Florida's six-week abortion ban when it comes up in a referendum later this year. In an exclusive interview with DailyMail, the Republican nominee admitted that he thinks six weeks was not enough time. He, however, did not commit to veto a nationwide federal ban if it arrived on his desk as president.

Trump has been vocally pro-life and has taken credit for ending federal protections for abortion by installing conservative justices on the Supreme Court, who eventually overturned Roe v Wade. However, Vice President Kamala Harris has targetted the Republican presidential ticket over their stance on abortion rights.

Looks like, Trump is easening up on abortion. In Florida, where the former president is a registered voter, a referendum on Amendment 4 would abolish the state's new ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, replacing it with a 24-week limit.

"Well, I do know, but I do want more than six weeks. I want more than six weeks. I think six weeks is a mistake. And I'll be expressing that soon, but I want more than six weeks. And in Florida, we have a six-week program, and that's what I believe that you're voting on, and I think it should be more than six weeks," Trump told DailyMail in an interview released on Thursday.
