biden's arlington cemetary photo surfaces amid donald trump 'fight' row

Amid the row between Donald Trump's campaign staff and an official at the Arlington National Cemetery, a photo of Joe Biden from May 2020 has surfaced where he is seen at the Arlington Cemetery. Notably, the photo was taken at section 60, the area where Trump tried to take campaign photographs at but was stopped by the cemetery official, which led to the altercation.

The Arlington National Cemetery had said in a statement after the incident that only cemetery staffers are allowed to take photographs at section 60. Several people on social media are saying that Trump is being discriminated against as Biden was allowed to take photographs there.

The photo in question was in a video on the 81-year-old's X account posted on May 25, 2020, when he and Jill Biden had participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at section 60 on the occasion of Memorial Day. However, the cemetery said that only staffers are allowed to take photos there during events, and no private camerapersons are allowed to do so. The photo of the Bidens at the cemetery was not during a campaign, it was taken by the cemetery, as part of the official publicity of the event.

Section 60 has entered the election discourse over Donald Trump and Joe Biden's roles in the withdrawal from Afghanistan between 2020 and early 2021. The 13 US soldiers who were killed in an attack during the withdrawal are buried in section 60, and both the GOP and the Blue Party have attacked each other over their leaders' roles in the death of the soldiers.

According to reports, which cited a source at the Arlington National Cemetery, two Trump campaign staffers verbally and physically abused the official after they were stopped from filming. Trump's campaign has denied that there was any physical altercation involved, while the cemetery authorities said in a statement that an incident of physical altercation did happen.

Trump released a TikTok video of the visit to Arlington with a progressive rock track in the background.
