Mumbai: A week after two real estate agents were reported missing and their bodies were subsequently found, the investigation revealed that one of them had hired a contract killer to have the other murdered. However, the agent who arranged the ”supari” (a contract) was also killed by the same killers. According to Navi Mumbai police, five suspects in the case were arrested on Thursday.
According to the police report, the body of 39-year-old Sumit Jain, who had hired the contract killers, was found on Pen-Khopoli Road on August 23. The other deceased, 42-year-old Amir Khanzada, was found near Karnala Bird Sanctuary on August 27.
Crime Branch DCP Amit Kale stated that on August 21, real estate agents Amir Khanzada and Sumit Jain, residents of Nerul, left in a car for a property deal meeting. He said, "But when they did not return, a missing complaint was filed. During this time, the police located the car with the help of the GPS system installed in it. The car was found abandoned in Khopoli. Upon investigation, bloodstains and two empty pistol cartridges were discovered in the car."

He further explained, "Afterward, the police registered a case and intensified the investigation. Eight teams from both zones were formed to investigate this case. Following their investigation, the Pen Police discovered Sumit Jain's body. The police determined that this murder was committed by shooting."
The DCP revealed that as the investigation progressed, it was uncovered that both deceased men had ongoing financial disputes. One of the disputes involved Jain purchasing 3.5 acres of land in Pali, Raigad, for around Rs 2 crore by using a fake landowner for registration, as the real owner was deceased. The DCP stated, "Amir was aware of the fraud and demanded a share in the deal from Jain, who then decided to eliminate him."
The DCP also mentioned that Jain had given Rs 50 lakh as "supari" to Nakade for hiring contract killers to murder Khanzada. According to the police, after killing Amir and dumping his body near Karnala Bird Sanctuary, the killers and Jain were traveling along Pen-Khopoli Road. On the way, the contract killers asked for payment. Jain claimed he had offered them Rs 25 lakh, but the contract killers insisted that Nakade had promised them Rs 50 lakh. Suspecting foul play, Nakade and the other contract killers stabbed Jain and dumped his body by the roadside on Pen-Khopoli Road.
Besides Jain's partner, Vithal Nakade, the other accused were identified as Jaisingh alias Raja Madhu Mudaliar (38), Anand alias Andrey Rajan Kuj (39), Virendra alias Go-ya Bharat Kadam (24), and Ankush alias Ankya Prakash Sitapure alias Sitafe (35).
