John Abraham’sVedaa bravely faced the three-film clash with Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. While the horror-comedy successfully sailed through, the other two films struggled. Amid reports of Vedaa’s shows being cut down along with Khel Khel Mein, John reacted to the film’s dismal performance.
In an interview with Radio City, John Abraham reacted to Vedaa’s box office performance. He called it a ‘brave film’. The actor added that the audience might have found the message difficult to process.
John Abraham reacts to Vedaa's box office failure
John said, “I think it is a brave film to do, very brave. Aur mai honestly keh raha hoon, success aur failure se jyada jo aap film me message de rahe ho, jo aap mudda utha rahe ho film mein, I think that’s very important. We’ve told it in an entertaining way, lekin mudda toh mudda hi hai. Agar mudda bhaari hai, aur logon ko kuch bhaari dekhna pasand nahi hai toh wo unka choice hai aur main usko bohot respect karta hoon. Agar unko mudda face karna hota hai, they need to face it (In my honest opinion, the message of a film matters more than its failure or success. Although we’ve told it in an entertaining way, the message remains the same. The message could be a tough pill to swallow for some people, and I respect that).”

Vedaa review
Our in-house critic reviewed Vedaa and opined, “Vedaa is ambitious but stumbles, primarily due to pacing issues. While social issues and the caste system have been explored before and executed better, Vedaa’s attempt to be more than just an action film results in a somewhat stretched theme. By the time the film reaches its climax, it loses impact—what initially seemed powerful becomes diluted.”
Apart from John,Vedaa starred Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee. The action-thriller was directed by Nikkhil Advani.
