The independent candidate ended his bid and soon after appeared with the former president at a rally in Glendale, Arizona. Speculation arose on social media that Trump might select RFK Jr as his vice-presidential candidate and replace JD Vance, but these claims are false.
Vance has been the subject of several controversies – from his infamous 'couch story' to the 'dolphin' post row. However, Trump has not spoken about wanting to replace the Ohio senator.

At Trump's Arizona rally on Friday, Kennedy was featured as the 'special guest'. The Republican nominee praised the former Democrat, stating, "We are both here to do what’s right for the country." He also lauded RFK Jr. for addressing 'critical issues that have been neglected for too long in this country'.
Announcing his decision to suspend his campaign, RFK Jr listed a number of reasons. "These are the principal causes that persuaded me to leave the Democratic Party and run as an independent, and now to throw my support to President Trump," he said.

Soon after the independent candidate's event in Phoenix, social media users suspected that Trump will fire Vance. "Yesterday, Trump unofficially fired JD Vance. 🤔" one person said on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
"I’m not fan of these two, we are all entitled to our reasons. But as an observation if I was Trump I would fire Vance and get Bobby as VP. But let’s not give them ideas. 🤫" another one added.
