A couple of days ago, TG Vishwa Prasad, producer of Ravi Teja’s recent release Mr Bachchan, spoke to a YouTube channel. When he was asked to comment about the film’s failure, Prasad replied that it was too early to talk about the Harish Shankar directorial as it is still running in theaters. However, the producer went on to acknowledge that the script lacks the panache in the second half, and that it is not without its flaws.
‘Harish Shankar is a friend First’
During the conversation about the subject, many online media outlets have speculated and written that Prasad appeared to have blamed Mr Bachchan director Harish Shankar for the failure. Media has written that Prasad tried to find fault with the director’s attitude, and that his outspoken nature towards media impacted the film’s box office revenue. However, Prasad took to his social media handle X and denied making comments on Harish Shankar. He said that Harish is a friend first and later both collaborated for the movie. Requesting everyone to be kind and ‘not interpret’ between the lines, the producer further stated that he never commented on Harish in the interview, and that both are happy to work together again.
In a long post on X, Vishwa Prasad wrote, “Harish Shankar is a friend first and then we collaborated for the movie. There may be some learnings, however in my recent interview to the media I shared some learnings and clearly told success attributes many positives and if there is limited success there will be lots of feedback and we need to take it.”
“This is no way I commented on Harish and we are happy to work with him again and he has the extraordinary abilities in film making. A very good human who right away responded to compensate any losses to the distributors from his remuneration. Requesting Media to be kind and not interpreted between lines. We use all our learnings and get back with a massive movie.”
Harish Shankar Responds
Soon after Vishwa Prasad clarified, Harish Shankar too was quick to respond. The director thanked the producer for his unwavering support and elucidated that he never thought that whatever has been written was intended by him. Harish added that he is looking forward to teaming up with Prasad for a much more successful film.
“Sir knowing your unwavering support… Not for a minute did I think that anything that has been written is in the way intended by you. Looking forward to get back on sets with you on some other day and make a much more successful film. Thank you again for everything Sir,’ said Harish.
