Rightly on time with Janmashtami around the corner, her Radha look is much appreciated by netizens. In her latest video Bhakti, she is seen donning another exquisite piece by Torani with a makeup look that draws heavily from traditional Indian bridal aesthetics, with a resemblance to Bengali bridal makeup styles.
This is how you can create this look for Janmashtami at your house
Face and Base Makeup
The base makeup is kept natural with a warm undertone. Apply the foundation evenly which will lead to a matte finish, while retaining the natural glow. Contour your face subtly and allow the sculpted, yet soft look to appear.
Use a light-coloured blush, a peach-tone one would work perfectly and add warmth to the complexion without overpowering the traditional elements of the look.
Eyes
The eyes are defined using neutral and earthy tones. Start with a light wash of taupe or soft brown eyeshadow on your eyelids and stroke to enhance the natural eye shape. Use a thin line for your eyeliner, go for a brown or a black one. Focus on defining your eyes and not making it look too dramatic.
Use mascara to add volume to the length of lashes without making the lashes look too heavy. Groom your eyebrows and match it with your hair colour.
Lip Shade
Remember that lipsticks did not exist in those times, try to create a shade that looks more natural and subtle. The pink hue is common in traditional Indian bridal makeup and it complements the warm skin tones.
Use a light shade of pink for your lips. If you do not have a light shade, mix some foundation with your lipstick and then apply it to create a soft pink look.

The Face Paint

The defining feature of this look is the intricate white patterns drawn on the face. These delicate designs, painted around the eyebrows and extending towards the temples, are reminiscent of the traditional 'chandan' (sandalwood paste) designs seen in Bengali bridal makeup. The forehead also features a central red dot or bindi, a significant symbol in Hindu tradition, mostly symbolising marital status and invoking divine blessings.
These white patterns are typically associated with auspiciousness and are used to add an element of sacredness and tradition to the bridal look.
You can create these white patterns using face paint or white liquid kum kum bindi. You can also purchase the white bridal bindi online to replicate the chandan patterns, but in a much hassle-free way.
Jewellery and Adornments
The headpiece, which includes a tiara-like ornament made of jasmine flowers and gold jewellery, adds to the traditional bridal essence. The choker necklace is adorned with red and gold accents, complementing the makeup and outfit while adding a regal touch.
