However, no such items could be found despite thorough searches, said the police officials. They suspected the threat to be a hoax threat. In a video from outside one of the schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya, that received a bomb threat, a huge number of students were seen returning to their home. While some kids were received by their parents at the school's gate, others went home with their cycles and scooters.
Police officials were also seen managing the crowd outside the school, ensuring safety of the children.
Chennai Schools Bomb Threat
A couple of months back in July, a similar bomb scare was made in a few private schools in Chennai. The management of these schools had received mails, threatening them of explosives being planted on the campuses. This triggered fear among parents who rushed to schools to pick up their kids. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the emails were hoax, and intended to cause panic.
