Mangalore: Three young drowned in a private beach resort near Uchila Beach, on the outskirts of Mangalore. The victims, identified as Nishitha M.D. (21), Parvathi S. (20), and Keerthana N. (21), were all from Mysuru. The incident occurred this morning at the resort’s swimming pool.
According to reports, the women had arrived at the resort the previous day and checked into a room. Early today, around 8:30 AM, they decided to take a swim in the pool, which has a depth of up to six feet on one side. It is suspected that one of the women may have slipped and drowned, and the other two women likely drowned while attempting to rescue her.
The Ullal police have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are examining whether there were any lapses on the part of the resort management.
