Bengaluru: Three individuals were sentenced to death on Friday for the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in Tiruvail village, Mangaluru in Karnataka. The Additional District and Sessions Court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh. The case pertains to a sexual assault with a minor daughter of a fellow worker of the convicts from Jharkhand in 2021.
The convicts have been identified as Jay Singh (21) from Madhya Pradesh, Mukesh Singh (20) from Madhya Pradesh, and Manish Tirkhi (33) from Jharkhand. All of them were workers at a factory in the village. Considering the gravity of the case, Judge K.S. Manu awarded the death penalty and a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh to the convicts.

Additionally, the court directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide a compensation of Rs 3.80 lakh to the victim's family under the victim compensation scheme.
Compensation to the Minor's Family
Considering the gravity of the case, Judge K.S. Manu awarded the death penalty and a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh to the convicts. In addition to that, the court directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide a compensation of Rs 3.80 lakh to the minor's family under the victim compensation scheme.

Meanwhile in Karnataka's capital, a man in the Puttenahalli area of Bengaluru allegedly killed his mother on Friday morning. Ayesha, the 55-year-old victim, was at her home when her elder son Sufiyan took her life. The incident took place at around 9:30 am. Sufiyan (31) is unemployed, and is reportedly receiving treatment for psychiatric issues.
