Mumbai: Three brothers have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and stripping three real estate agents in Mumbai’s Andheri area. The victims were trying to gather information about a property and were taking photos of it, which the three brothers own. The accused have been identified as Sattar Turak (54), Ajit (50), and Farooque (53).
According to an official from the DN Nagar police station, the victims, who work as real estate agents, visited the site in Andheri (West) a few days ago to collect information about the property owned by the brothers. However, the brothers became suspicious when they noticed the trio taking photos of their property, according to a PTI report.
The official added that the brothers then took the victims to a nearby shop and attacked them with sticks. The accused not only assaulted the victims but also stripped them, recorded the entire episode, and shared the video on social media platforms.
The official further stated that in the video, one of the accused is seen threatening to give electric shocks to the private parts of the victims. The victims, who specialize in identifying properties for redevelopment, claimed they were visiting the site when the accused mistook them for informers of civic authorities.
The accused were arrested under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges of intentionally causing harm with a dangerous weapon, wrongful restraint, criminal force, insult, and criminal intimidation, among others, the PTI report added.
