24 hours after kanpur tragedy, cement block weighing 70 kg found on ajmer railway track

Just a day after a train mishap in Kanpur, a similar incident has been reported in Ajmer, Rajasthan. According to Times Now, a train en route to Ahmedabad collided with a cement block that was allegedly placed on the tracks intentionally. Sources revealed that the incident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday when the train was travelling from Ajmer’s Phuleda to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Sources said that the engine struck the block near Saradan station, causing it to come to a sudden stop. Upon inspection, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials found a large concrete block weighing approximately 70 kilograms on the track.

The impact of the collision shattered the block, with debris scattered around the area. An FIR has been filed by the RPF against unidentified individuals.

"An attempt to derail a loaded goods train was made in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan by putting two cement blocks on tracks of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor," railway officials said on Tuesday.

"Some miscreants put two cement blocks on tracks on the dedicated freight corridor on Sunday. A goods train hit them," a North Western Railway official said.

This marks the third attempt to derail a train in Rajasthan in recent weeks. Previously, on August 28, scrap metal was thrown onto a goods train track in Chhabra Baran, and on August 23, a train collided with a cement block on the Ahmedabad-Jodhpur Vande Bharat track at Pali.

A passenger train hit an LPG cylinder placed on the track in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district on Sunday. No passenger was hurt in the incident, the police said. Railway Police Force has not ruled out foul play, officials said.

The incident took place when Kalindi Express, travelling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani in Haryana, was running in Kanpur's Shivrajpur area.

Senior police officials of the Kanpur Police and Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) were rushed to the spot. A bottle of petrol and matchboxes were recovered the LPG cylinder.

"Railway authorities informed that the loco pilot of a train which goes from Prayagraj to Bhiwani saw a cylinder on the track and applied emergency brakes. The cylinder collided with it and fell on the side. After that, the train stopped for a long time. Then the RPF people came and informed the local police. All the senior officers and forensic teams are present here. One cylinder has been found in a damaged position and some objectionable material has also been found. All of it is being reviewed.
