The deliveries of the new Mahindra Thar Roxx have begun. This means this five-door SUV's first lot has started arriving at dealerships, and we get to see other trims of the five-door Thar except the top-spec model. YouTuber Avtansh Singh has uploaded a video on this YouTube channel showcasing the MX5 trim of this SUV. This trim is the entry point into the Thar Roxx's 4WD range and retails for Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Mahindra Thar Roxx has two engine options. Its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 160 hp and 330 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The variant equipped with the automatic gearbox produces 174 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The petrol derivatives of the Mahindra Thar Roxx are only available in rear-wheel-drive configuration.

Mahindra also offers the five-door Thar with a 2.2-litre diesel engine. This unit produces 150 hp and 330 Nm of peak torque in the variant, which comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. In the variants equipped with the six-speed torque converter automatic, the diesel engine's power goes up to 172 hp with 370 Nm of peak torque. The MX5 is available with all but the four-wheel-drive automatic drivetrain option. For 4WD automatic, you'll have to go for the top-spec AX7L trim, which retails at Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Though the MX5 misses out on the six-speed automatic in its four-wheel-drive guise, Mahindra has loaded it with plenty of aesthetic and comfort features. On the outside, you'll see LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, chrome trim on the six-slat grill, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with all-terrain tyres, one-touch sunroof, rear window washer and wiper with defogger, disc brakes on all four wheels and a lot more.
The interior of the MX5 is also rich with features. It has push-button start-stop, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, a semi-digital instrument cluster, frameless day and night IRVM, automatic headlamps and wipers, steering-mounted audio controls, power windows on all four doors, and manual air conditioning controls.
