Two soldiers of 18 Rashtriya Rifles and two porters were killed in a terrorist attack on a military truck carrying supplies near the Nagin area of Botapathri in Kashmir's Gulmarg on Thursday evening. The area is completely dominated by the Army and there have been reports in the past that a terrorist group had infiltrated during early summer and taken shelter in the higher reaches of the Afrawat range, the officials said.

10 Points On Terrorist Attack In Jammu and Kashmir

1. A terrorist attack on army vehicle in Botapathri area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg was reported on Thursday. Two Army soldiers were killed in action, while two civilian porters also lost their lives. Meanwhile, three jawans sustained injuries.

2. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack. “Very unfortunate news about the attack on the army vehicles in the Boota Pathri area of North Kashmir which has resulted in some casualties & injuries. This recent spate of attacks in Kashmir is a matter of serious concern. I condemn this attack is the strongest possible terms & send my condolences to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives. I also pray that injured make a complete & swift recovery,” Abdullah said in his X post.

3. The attack occurred just hours after a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was shot at and injured by unidentified terrorists in South Kashmir. Unknown terrorists shot a migrant man, identified as Shubam Kumar, at the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama. Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, received a gunshot injury in the arm when the terrorists fired at him.

4. Earlier. on October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Ganderbal district. The Ganderbal attack was the worst on civilians in recent months, and took place just days after Omar Abdullah took his oath of office.

Those involved in this heinous act will not be spared and will face the harshest response from our security forces. At this moment of immense grief, I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he said in a post on X.

8. The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed for the terrorist attack on a tunnel-construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.

9. Earlier this month, a bullet-riddled body of a non-local man was recovered in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. The body was recovered from Wachi area of Zainapora in the south Kashmir district.

Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a significant meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, focusing on crucial issues concerning the region, including the restoration of statehood. The 30-minute discussion also touched on developmental projects aimed at improving the Union Territory.
