Kolkata: An incident of blast took place at the x-ing of Blochmann St and S N Banerjee Rd, Kolkata on Saturday afternoon. Reportedly, one person was injured. The area was secured with the police tape, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was called in.
The BDDS team arrived, examined the bag and surrounding area. After ensuring safety, they cleared the site for traffic, news agency ANI reported.
"The explosion is of great concern… It should be investigated thoroughly. Especially I feel that an investigation by NIA is required. I don't think the police have that kind of professionalism to investigate this incident and not only so it also depicts the failure of Mamata Banerjee as a Home Minister…If this is the condition of law and order in the state, the Home Minister should resign. So that's why the BJP is asking for her resignation. It is a total failure of law and order…, " Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said on the blast that took place in Kolkata.
