Delhi Policeman Mowed Down to Death by Liquor Mafia

In a recent road rage incident in Delhi, a constable was hit and dragged for 10 kilometers for asking a man, reportedly a liquor mafia, to slow down his Wagon R. This angered the latter, so he hit the Delhi cop with his car, leaving him severely injured in Nangaloi last night. The incident happened when Constable Sandeep was heading towards Railways Road and noticed a WagonR car being driven recklessly. When he tried to stop the driver, the suspect got angry and deliberately ran over the constable. Sandeep, who was on his motorbike at the time, later died from the head injuries he sustained in the incident.

Sandeep was on duty when this happened, having just left the Nangaloi Police Station. He was dressed in civilian clothes as part of efforts to tackle increased burglary in the area. CCTV footage shows that Sandeep turned into a narrow street and signalled the WagonR to slow down. However, the driver suddenly sped up, hit his bike, and dragged him for about 10 metres before crashing into another parked car. The injuries he suffered led to his death.
